2nd Lion fish Tournament Cozumel
After a successful of first Lion Fish tournament, Marine Park of Cozumel has announced the second Lion Fish tournament.

In this second edition the tournament will add the participation of Canirac, Restaurant association of Cozumel, the Plan is to present dishes made with specimens of lion fish.
The fishing tournament will take place this Sunday 30th at Punta langosta pier at 8:00 am to 15:00 pm and the dishes presentation is scheduled to start at 2:00 pm.
you can participate either individual or on group of 4, you can register at Marine Park headquarters from 9:00 to 6:00 pm before Saturday.
Why do you need to catch him. Why we love to go to Cozumel is to see them in their home. I could not stand seeing you catch them in a plastic bag. Are you catching othert fish also so soon there will not be the Cozumel I love? I see no need for capturing them.

Lion Fish it an specie that does not belong to the Cozumel reef ecosystem, we dont have and exactly data of how their population start to grow up and how they were introduced to the cozumel reefs. the fact is that they are killing some other endemic species, Lion Fish doesn´t have natural predators on these waters and the afectation because of them is being serious.
the Lion fish tournaments is an effort to control their population growth, before they kill many other species.
